Lovefield Harry Quilley

love field
There are two clear genres in this clip, one being a thriller and the other being dramatic genre.

Semantic (what we see)
Semantic codes within this short film involve camera shot variation, this increases the tension within the scenes, increasing the enigma surrounding the scene and what we expected. Another being camera angles, by only having half body shots of the girl, as well as when he places down the knife, allows for the audience to assume what he has done, without seeing.

 Syntactic (narrative structure and themes.)
Binary opposites is something we judge in the first 2 minutes, believing he is a murdered and is believed to be the antagonist, however as the film goes further on, it is revealed as the protagonist. Typical themes as another code we assume is a thriller and murder film, but what we find out it is a drama.
